On my recent train holiday I was able to progress a little on my latest Peaches and Cream doiley quilt that I am making for my upstairs bed. It is coming together quite nicely.
We started in 2007 with a quilt made one very rainy weekend with friends from across Sydney and across the world connected by patchwork and quilting. Our members have included quilters and novices from far and wide - NSW, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland (Australia), New Zealand, Massachusetts and Connecticut (USA), N.Ireland, Cornwall, Shropshire and Wales (UK). All our quilts are for charity, either raffled to earn money or donated directly to a nearby charity.

A quilt from Stephanie's friend
Stephanie sent me this pic of a quilt top her friend made to use up all the bits in her scraps basket. I'm inspired.
Note that all the tiny little pieces are basically rectangles which gives them some semblance of order even though they are all different sizes. There is an occasional half square triangle too. I think each block is made of 4 smaller blocks in roughly log cabin style.

So where did we get to by the end of 2021?
Our Christmas gathering of 2021 was a small crowd. We enjoyed lunch together at the Carss Park cafe but then repaired to my place for a scrumptious afternoon tea. Elaine left straight after lunch and Kathryn could not join us because she was still counting votes in the recent elections and we missed them both.
So here is a little recap of where we are up to and where we will start 2022...
The green Ohio Stars are coming together nicely and we are in the process of adding narrow sashing between the rows.
We have three projects that have not appeared on the design wall yet...
Glenda's flowers and Jeanette's Briar Rose are waiting in their boxes. If you have any of those at home please send them back as soon as you can.
Stephanie's Shiny Blue and Silver are not due back until our first gathering so please make sure you are enjoying that little bit of creativity and post it back if you are not going to be here.
Soon I'll send out a 2022 timetable and requirements email but as I've had the flu (not Covid) for over a week now I've been a bit slack.
Happy New Year to you all.

Our quilt in its new home
Carol has collected the quilt that she won and has it in its new home. It looks great!
It is particularly appropriate that Carol has this one as she did most of the quilt top construction using the blocks we all supplied including all those intricate borders.

Another quilt from Elaine
There is something to be said about being mostly stuck at home. Elaine has finished another quilt. Well done Elaine! Many thanks to Jenny for the fabrics too.
