The new purchase returned and money back

Early in May I bought us a new sewing machine, the same one Stephanie bought a few years back from Aldi. While hers works like a dream, ours had intermittent faults and was driving Kerrie and I mad while we had a day of sewing last Saturday. As it was still within the return time I drove up today and did so.

So that is now back to 3 sewing machines that work. We might have to start using my treadle machine if things get tight. I still have Stephanie's machine set to my blanket stitch needs for my hexies but I guess I can change that.

The worst thing is when we find ourselves arguing with a machine! Good on you for returning it.

That's disappointing, Betty. I guess we keep looking...

That has got to be frustrating. Hope you can find a machine that fills the need very soon. Silly, but it bothers me to have to keep switching settings around on my machine for different tasks. Oldest son wanted a "quick repair" on a new wool top that he nicked with scissors when he was trying to cut off a tag. Said repair required changing the throat plate on the machine, also changing the presser foot, and both top and bobbin threads. All of that only takes a few minutes, but I put it off for weeks, knowing I would just have to switch everything back so I could go on with my project. Once I did it I wondered why I make such a big deal about it in my head and put it off for so long. But the pattern never changes. :)
