Yesterday we met via Zoom for a chat together. After some difficulties with erasing the surnames and pasting in one person from another screen shot I am there. All we have to remember is that Jon is actually Heather. This "screenshot" was actually taken with my phone because my laptop running Windows 10 seems to lose my screenshots. Eventually I will find them.
People came from far and wide - in the east we had Heather and Liz from NZ and in the west we had Jeanette in Perth in her caravan. Jenny checked in from Mudgee. It was great to see so many people. This was the first time we had actually met Heather from NZ even though she has been a member of our group for many years. Welcome Heather, at least virtually.
Unfortunately for one reason or another Stephanie, Carol, Helen, Lynette and Karen G did not make it. If they had we would have needed two screen shots! We are certainly a crowd when we get together. Karen W's internet was flaky so we did not actually see her show and tell. Maybe all you people can send me your show and tell to put up on the blog.
So until we meet again let's have fun with our sewing. I will now go upstairs and add the binding to my yellow Covid Coverlet and finish that one off. Only the red and the blue coverlets then and the two seminole quilts.
Remember if you would like to have a sewing day here please just email or ring and we can have a small gathering of one or two people any day that suits us both. Elaine and Stephanie have both been and it works reasonably well with just 3 people. But still no cuddles!!
These Zoom gatherings are working so well we will have to continue them, especially for our distance members, when we work out what on earth our "new normal" will be.
We started in 2007 with a quilt made one very rainy weekend with friends from across Sydney and across the world connected by patchwork and quilting. Our members have included quilters and novices from far and wide - NSW, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland (Australia), New Zealand, Massachusetts and Connecticut (USA), N.Ireland, Cornwall, Shropshire and Wales (UK). All our quilts are for charity, either raffled to earn money or donated directly to a nearby charity.
