This weekend we worked really hard to try to get our 4 latest quilts finished to donate to the Victorian fire victims. Marion is now upstairs binding Leonie's Flowers quilt and then we just have to quilt and bind Helen's Stars. I am also in the process of redesigning our labels so that they include the name and logo of the Rainbow Connection Quilters group.
This photo shows Robyn with three of our quilts on the go.
Here Robyn is showing her latest quilt. What a lot of work!Others who were with us included Marion from Massachusetts.Evelyn and Elaine came on Saturday and finished a block each for our Brown Sampler Quilt.Leonie completed the quilting of our Leonie's Flowers quilt.
We enjoyed lots of chat and of course allowed Surrey and Barre to share our meals. Geoff, Ellen, Alex and Luke also came on Sunday morning and shared a bit of the fun. There was our usual shopping trip to Spotlight to find backing and binding for Helen's Stars.
Hope you all like our new blog site just for us.
We started in 2007 with a quilt made one very rainy weekend with friends from across Sydney and across the world connected by patchwork and quilting. Our members have included quilters and novices from far and wide - NSW, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland (Australia), New Zealand, Massachusetts and Connecticut (USA), N.Ireland, Cornwall, Shropshire and Wales (UK). All our quilts are for charity, either raffled to earn money or donated directly to a nearby charity.
